The Breast Cancer Site Take a moment to visit The Breast Cancer Site and click on "donating a mammogram." In 2002 alone, 43,000 women will die from breast cancer. Share this site with your friends and colleagues.

A Caregivers Guide Whether someone spends their last days of life at home or in a hospice, hospital or long term care facility, palliative care and home care workers and family caregivers strive to improve the quality of that person's life. They provide physical, sipiritual and emotional support while respecting the dying person's wishes and quality of life. A Caregiver's Guide presents family caregivers the medical and nursing information they will need in clear, easily understood language. This will help them to understand the journey up which their loved ones have embarked, to become effective, informed members of the palliative care team and to provide essential physical , spiritual and emotional support. Sharing this journey with a loved one can be demanding but it is also one of the greatest gifts friends and families can share.
Charity Village is Canada's supersite for the nonprofit sector. Every day, you'll find more than 3,000 pages of news, jobs, resources, how-to articles, volunteer and event listings, educational opportunities, and much more.

Partners Against Pain www.partnersagainstpain.com (which is not restricted specifically to palliative care) has some useful information when you spend time searching the site. In particular, there is reference to a patient "Comfort Assessment Journal," which is a tool to help people to both understand and learn about how to talk about their pain to healthcare professionals. For a brief description of this journal, see www.pharma.com/Pressroom/app/pat_care/ss_TalkPhys.asp. Another site of interest, specifically on cancer pain, is www.pain.com.
